Halfords Autocentre
Annual Conference & Event

Event:

Planning, management and execution of the Halfords Autocentre annual business conference with team building activities, an awards dinner and a suppliers’ exhibition.

The event, titled ‘One Way’, was a two-day project that saw Spiderzone handle all live elements, whilst combining many of it’s integrated services to successfully deliver a memorable and engaging experience for Halfords Autocentre staff, key stakeholders and business suppliers.

Challenge:

The agency’s first challenge was to source a centrally located venue, big enough to host a conference and banquet for up to 400 delegates, made up of regional Autocentre Managers and key personnel -  with additional space to hold a supplier’s exhibition and an outdoor team building activity.

Solution:

Following several venue visits Telford International Center was chosen to host the event having perfectly fitted the brief. Once the venue components were in place Spiderzone planned and delivered the full AV requirements for the conference with a stage and set theme that provided synergy with both the event branding and the Halfords Autocentre master brand.

Spiderzone helped delegates kick-start the day with a welcome breakfast reception before being ushered into the cabaret style conference, expertly compared by TV motorsport commentator Louise Goodman, whilst key business leaders delivered the crucial insights and business strategy for 2018 and beyond.

The supplier zone and exhibition hall hosted more than a dozen key Autocentre suppliers and featured twenty regionally-bespoke-branded pit garages where delegates, once split into 19 regional groups, would build soapbox carts as part of a team building exercise.

Halfords -
Annual Partner Conferences

Event:

Halfords Annual Partner/Associate Q4 Conferences

 

Pitch:

3 motorsport related venues North, Midlands and South that had the meeting room capacity for 400 associates over 2 days per event.

 

Challenge:

Venues that had a racing heritage and  track accesss for a lunchtime stunt show, but could also handle 200 associates per day in 5 different break out sessions and a main auditorium to seat all 200.

The venue needed to be easily accessible and allow for easy flow of associates from session to session due to the busy agenda.

 

Solution:

Spiderzone commenced the project by designing the 'Revving up 4Peak' conference ident and branding throughout every venue and communication assets that were used relating to the event.

 

In the South, the Mercedes Benz World facility was chosen. A fantastic, ultra-modern facility with large, open and airy spaces and a test track backing onto it, was perfect for the requirement. 

 

In the Midlands, the new Silverstone Wing was utilised, again with generous, clear span spaces to accommodate all of the staff and the varying activities. 

 

In the North a slightly different venue was chosen – Aintree! A little known fact is that Aintree was the host of the first F1 race in UK history and still has elements of the track being used to this day on the outskirts of the infamous horse racing track.
